Once you have found your dream block you will need to make a $1,000 payment to secure it. This is also the point where you should engage your solicitor so they can act on your behalf.
Your solicitor will arrange for contracts to be exchanged and the payment of your deposit which is 5% of the purchase price. Cheques should be made payable to Clayton Utz Trust Account.
Stamp duty needs to be paid within 90 days of exchanging contracts. This is paid directly to ACT Revenue. Your solicitor will advise you when your payment is due.
Your solicitor will be notified when your block is ready for settlement. At this point you’ll pay the balance of your purchase.
Your solicitor will help you through this process including arranging for you to sign the Lease and to register it with Land Titles.
It’s time to celebrate your new purchase. You now own a block in Denman Prospect, Canberra’s most remarkable new suburb.
Now you can start the building process. As part of this process, you’ll need to submit your plans to our Design Coordinator to endorse before you lodge them for planning approval.
