Wyndham Avenue pond stormwater upgrades
The ACT Government has been upgrading the storwater system at the Wyndham Avenue pond.
Site establishment and sedimentation control was completed in August 2023, and major demolition work and earthworks have now begun.
New stormwater pipes will be installed soon, followed by the installation of infrastructure designed to trap pollution that enters the pond.
The ACT Government is working with Evelyn Scott School to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors to the school. This includes robust traffic and pedestrian management to minimise any disruptions.
Roads ACT will regularly maintain the pond and monitor the secondary inlet for pollution until the project is complete. A trash rack or gross pollutant trap will also be installed at the secondary inlet, which Roads ACT will also maintain.
The project is expected to finish by late November 2023, weather permitting.
