An abstract assemblage, this work derives its imagery from stylised forms and has strong positive and negative spaces. The single arch invites passage and public interaction.
Philip Spelman graduated from the Applied Arts Department at the Queensland College of Arts and continued with further study at the School of Art, Australian National University, completing a BVA in Sculpture. As a practicing sculptor for more than 25 years, Philip works in both painted steel and unique cast and fabricated bronze. He is actively engaged in national and international exhibitions, commissions and conference programmes as well as technical management and consultation.
